Tim Delahanty, ServerHub
Here at ServerHub the name NYI is one that brings happiness, friendship, growth, and love to the forefront of our thoughts. The NYI and ServerHub relationship has only been established for a short four years, however in that time we have created a partnership that seems like it has been in place for twenty or more years. Currently ServerHub is partnered with NYI in New York City, Chicago, and Miami.
In 2016 we acquired multiple clients who were interested in our adding a location in New York City. After meeting with Phillip Koblence and the NYI team we knew we could stop our search. Phil and his team may be the only honest people in New York. They are fully transparent with all our pricing. When issues occur we know exactly why and are given an exact timeline for resolution. The team discussed all their strengths as well as their weaknesses and how we could possibly work around some of the obstacles we faced. There has not been a single time where we have felt uncomfortable with the NYI team. That does not mean they are scared to tell us “no”, that actually happens a lot, but they make our goals and objectives realistic.
Over the four years our New York City infrastructure has been colocated within NYI, I have never met a more flexible company. There were times we had to scale up our footprint rapidly and NYI was accommodating, providing extra hands, so we could hit our timeline. There were times we needed to scale down and move infrastructure from NYI and they allowed us time to scale down, deactivate cabinets, move transit, de-rack our equipment, package our property, and finally transport it to where it was going next. There were times we had high traffic requirements from specific customers and NYI helped us to build out our network, run new cross connects, connect new fiber ports, bring in new network hardware, and backhaul to other locations. All of this is impressive, but when you consider that they handle all of this in downtown Manhattan in a high rise off Wall Street it just makes it nothing short of a herculean effort. We don’t view the NYI team as another datacenter that handles our colocation, no, we view them as a physical extension, another limb, of our organization.
Earlier this year NYI opened a new location in Chicago. At that time, we already had a location in that city, but after touring the beautiful new NYI facility with state-of-the-art racks, and wiring ladders, and generators, and cooling systems I was blown away. Top that all off with the expertise of the staff and I immediately knew I had to make the decision to move to NYI Chicago. What made this decision easier was the fact that NYI’s on-site staff was able to handle our entire buildout. We needed to use their transit while our premium blended network was being built out, and of course that was no problem. We needed the staff to build out our network cabinet which has very specific requirements and had to match our universal blueprint, and even though we hit a few road bumps it was finished flawlessly. The number of shipments and packages containing different moving parts would have been difficult for even the most talented data center technicians but everything was seamlessly managed, recorded, documented, and installed and we were fully operational within a month’s time. We are currently in the process of moving the rest of our Chicago infrastructure over as well.
Earlier last year we received interest from multiple clients for us to facilitate our product to not only the Florida and southeast United States, but to build out a site to accommodate Latin and South America. Of course, this location had to be Miami and who better to ask for recommendations, but Mr. Phil Koblence. With the help of Phil and the NYI team we were able to partner to build out our new Miami location which just like Chicago was handled flawlessly down to exactly how we wire and label our cabinets. We are now officially live in Miami and with this addition have grown to nine locations with more to come. Three of these locations would not be possible without NYI. We owe a great deal of thanks to them for not only helping us grow, but for making every day easier.
So since today is February 14th, Valentine’s Day, we proudly say thank you NYI we sincerely LOVE our partnership and everything you do for us. Here’s to you, and to the continued growth of both our companies!
