1Q Summary
NYI participated in key industry events like PTC, MetroConnect, and DCD which set the stage for 2025 by highlighting emerging trends, opportunities and challenges. Throughout the events, there was a great deal of excitement about AI and the resulting increase in demand for digital infrastructure and connectivity.
The last few months also saw the on-boarding of new clients at our 60 Hudson Street facility in New York City and new connectivity options at our Chicago data center in Oak Brook.
NYI Participation in Industry Events
Industry insights from PTC
NYI COO Phillip Koblence joined over 10,000 global attendees in sunny Honolulu January 19-22 for the Pacific Telecommunications Council’s (PTC) annual conference. The insightful, high energy event saw a more significant data center industry presence this year, alongside the traditional telecommunications presence. Key conference topics included artificial intelligence, power demands, and the integration of natural gas as a bridge for oncoming, exponential energy needs.
Phillip joins Nomad Futurist co-founder Nabeel Mahmood in this podcast recap of the event. Listen to the Podcast
DCD Connect > New York
Data Center Dynamics Connect is a premier event for those who design, build, and operate next-generation data centers. Phillip Koblence was delighted to participate in a March 24th panel debate that explored the challenges and future of digital infrastructure and connectivity in New York City, one of the most congested, power-hungry, and regulation-heavy regions in the world. The NYI Story: A Newsweek Interview
Phillip Koblence co-founded NYI at the age of eighteen at a time when the Internet was new! Now, almost thirty years later, when the data center industry has stepped into the limelight, he shares the story with Newsweek — from the grassroots excitement of the early days of the Internet, to the rise of data centers, to the establishment of NYI’s powerful digital infrastructure capabilities, connectivity ecosystem and high-touch service model. The interview, which accompanied Phillip’s participation in Newsweek’s special feature — America’s Next Chapter — also touches on critical topics such as AI, Quantum Computing and future industry challenges.
